What a game!! I gotta say this was one of the funnest games iv’e ever played! Three teams. Each with about 100 players. Green team was the Mafia, blue was the Marines, and the red were the Taliban.

As the game started out it put the Taliban in the back side of the field. After the first hour of play we had taken up Bravo in the open field as our main base.

From here we cornered up close to our DZ and ran our missions out from this little corner. What was so good about this game is the temporary alliances that would occur. Three teams and at any times any side could cut a deal with each other. We could split missions, split territory, and gang up on another side all together.

The morning held together well but we didn’t get alot of missions completed. During the fights you really had to watch your lines. Green and blue would just walk right up and pretend to blend in with our people. Once someone got behind the lines the out come was never good. It took people some getting used to, watching for tape color, and even then it was confusing on who was your ally at the time. After a couple hours though most of the players caught on.

We had six military grade radios that Kevin from ABP had brought. This helped us out so much. For the first time ever comm’s never broke down on this field and we stayed in touch the whole game. With that said we still were struggling on our missions. One in particular comes to mind middle of the day. About 30 Taliban secure a nuclear suit case at Holiday and receive a hold time of the prop for 40 minutes. We found the device under some wood.

So I ask the ref if we can move the prop. he said that was fine as long as it stayed in Holiday. As I back it off the line our front line comes under fire. Iron man and I take the prop and bury it under pine straw. 20 minutes later our position is surrounded and we are over run. We start spawning from our DZ which is pretty close to Holiday but both teams had hit us from different angles. After about 15 respawns Ironman and I fail to rally our forces well enough to repel the enemy. There was a TON of enemy! lol

On a mission not only is it important to follow through with it, but its also important to know when to quit. So we made the call to disengage and walk back down the mountain to Bravo and resupply after about a hour in the meat grinder. I know we distracted the enemy from being able to search the area for the prop pretty well. I would very much like to know if any teams found that nuclear suit case while we were getting worked over. I had hide it pretty well. We didn’t score but i’m hoping we denied the other team points as well on this mission!

Two highlights stood out to me throughout the day. I Barrel tagged over 30 people at fulda alpha, which the last barrel tag was a general for a side. Scoring 100 points.

Final Battle – Two parts – Recover Osma Bin Ladin and take control of Rex.

First off I gotta give it to Rogue Cell. Some how they recovered Osma Bin Ladin at Hamburger Hill. They worked him around the field and through both teams to get him safley to our DZ near Bravo. Theres alot more to this story but I don’t know enough to tell it properly. All in all they recovered him which was a feat in itself.

This is when I got back to Bravo’s side of the field. So heres what I see. We got 40 green players sitting down on tire bunkers to our backs at Bravo. (Clearly we have an alliance with them for the moment) Blue is in control of Rex, and were stuck in no mans land in between the two with Osma Bin Ladin…

Kevin fires an airstrike at Rex and it hits clearing out the base. We roll right into it. After we secure it in a swift move, we take half of the players out of rex and put them in the surronding field. So that when blue’s air strike came in all our players wouldn’t be taken out. Once our front line was setup, we turned to our back.

With the Taliban we brought money. Million dollar bills that we used to confuse the enemy. They had no real meaning in the game but it was alot of fun to have something to trade with that had no real value. (The game producer encouraged this and we also got addition points at the end for it)

So I turn to the green players and walked up their peacefully and handed out millions of dollars. At the sametime i’m telling green team what a good job their doing and to NOT double cross us! LOL We all laugh and they let me leave.

I walk up to one of our new recuits Exumer and hand him a few left over millions. I tell him we know there gonna turn on us. Go chat with them and feel them out. (At this point we are holding Rex) The Blue team is stacked at their DZ near Rex in the open field prepared to charge out. We assume their waiting on their air strike to hit.

Well it does but because we spaced our people out everyone in the field rolled into rex after it hit. When blue charged they didn’t get to leave the wood line. Some made it through to some bunkers close to the base but most didn’t make it through the open field.

Now at this time Exumer walks up to Green team whos starting to stir at Bravo. As he approaches he over hears them talking about getting ready to turn on us. So he turns around and Exumer makes it to the first bunker out of Bravo and yell’s “THERE TURNING ON US!” and charges them on full auto.

I see Exumer charge at them all from the wood line. He takes out 10 guys and surpises them all so bad that all 40 players either died or fleed Bravo. Two Red players saw what was happening and flanked the base with Exumer. We cleared Bravo in under a minute with 3-5 guys as I understand it.

I’m in the woodline sitting on Osma Bin Ladin at this point to make sure we don’t lose him. Sure enough one green player was sneaking in the woods trying to get to Osma. Five markers pointed his way and a barrel tag later all threats had been removed.

Furg/Osma said theres three minutes left in the game and we had secured him, so at that point the 5 of us stormed into Rex which was SOOO HOT!!! SOO MUCH FUN!!

With these actions we won the game. We had scored 200/300 points on missions the entire game. (as I understand it) 100 points came from my general kill. However capturing and securing Osma Bin Ladin and taking rex was worth 800 points at the end.

(I could be wrong on the points but it was something close to that.)

This was a mental game and I loved it. The sportsmanship was very high all game long. With only a couple incidents i’m proud to say i’ll be going back for the 2011 game next year!

We had a great group with many smaller size teams with a few larger ones, many of us had never worked together. Shadow Dragon Initiative in particular congratulations on the MVT, enjoyed working with you Custard, and your guys.
